It came shooting up
From out of nowhere
As a gift from the universe

Surviving in that old apartment
Wasn't easy living without sunlight
But our lucky bamboo stayed alive

It grew to symbolize our dream
To move out of that old apartment
And find a place to call our own

Each time I watered our lucky bamboo
I knew that we were inching closer
Towards starting a wonderful life together

Now I sit here in our new apartment
Admiring our lucky bamboo in the kitchen
Holding my baby and clipping a sprout
