dropping in to request a postponement
briefly before leaving to cash the check

There is a monster in my mind
All thoughts are transforming
The madness is growing strong
Poison flowing red in my blood
Voices calling out from beyond
Trapped between duel existences
Bowing to the sun on the mountain

ran out early
to pick up food
at the supermarket
before the rush

spilled coffee
all over my pants
which I washed
yesterday

got soaked
when it started
pouring rain
on my way back

all the groceries fell
out of the wet bags
as I struggled up
the tall staircase

turned the key
walked in the door
no one home
I was all alone

dried myself off
changed my clothes
it's never too late
to start over again

I used to gather
Broken branches
To make a wreath

Wrapping paper
For sale on the corner
Two for a buck
Stolen from a truck

Empty streets
Quiet buzz around town
The pigeons don't know

When it wasn't even Halloween

We've studied the teachings of Yoda
And practiced the ways of the Force
We stayed away from the Dark Side
And learned to use our powers for good

We wished we were Han Solo
And fell in love with Princess Leia
We'd defeat Darth Vader and the Empire
From our seat in the Millenium Falcon

We are the Star Wars Generation
