09-30-16 Last September Haiku

Going back to school

Baseball season is ending

Leaves are turning brown

09-29-16 Poison In The Water

all the time it's terrifying

to know you need me to win

contribute to the tribe to survive

now you're extra super paranoid

09-28-16 Unfriended

Everyone is turned on
But no one is tuned in

Everyone is plugged in
But no one is connected

Everyone is watching
But no one is aware

Everyone is alive
But no one is living

09-27-16 Life Is Fast

We spoke yesterday

Now suddenly you're gone

In the blink of an eye

On the brink of life

From birth to death

Or everywhere inbetween

We learn to walk

We learn to love

We learn to work

We learn to die

Only alive in photos

and in my memories

trying to remember

the sound of your voice

Every day it's

business as usual

wake up early

work your ass off

Holidays next month

Bills due next week

Frozen dinner again

Forgot to pick up milk

All those jokes he told

She never finished her book

You still have to fix the car

Your fresh green plant

Sitting on the window

In unlimited sunlight

But after you left

No one watered it

Now it's all dried up

We spoke yesterday

Now suddenly you're gone

09-26-16 Poisoned Planet Blues

Running out of time
Walls are closing in
Days are getting short
The water level rises

Sun is shining hotter
Ice mountains melting
Pollution in the air now
Your future is at stake

09-25-16 Find Your Self

You came here to win
Now you find yourself
Going home a loser

09-24-16 Baseball Game At The Zoo

There was a bear cub

Who hit a home run

Into the bleacher seats

Then there was a hen

Who hit the ball straight

Out of the ballpark

Next the snakes came

Up to bat with nobody out

But none of them scored

So we cheered for the dolphins

And they didn't strike out

They won the game in style

09-23-16 Kids In The Neighborhood

All good in the universe
Labels and differences don't matter
We are all the same in this game
Look around the neighborhood
At the other kids sitting alone
Let's all play together

09-22-16 Almighty Designs

Dreaming of awakenings
Mad with lousy dipping birds
One last chance to shine again
The creeps crawl after sunset

California earthquake changes
Life on Earth as we know it
Don't blow it with a gold show
The universe will tell the truth

Get lucky and break a dozen
Pizza money for your paycheck
Your heart will reveal itself  to us
Crying teardrops with your eyes

09-21-16 Boiling Point

no single person
can solve the problem
so we all have to work
together with respect

protests turn violent
riots in the streets
peace is the answer
love will stand strong

let's bring about change
i will lend you a hand
find the truth of mankind
spread the word to everyone

09-20-16 The Life Of An Urban Flower

A small flower
Grows up
Through a crack
In the sidewalk

Where a tiny seed
Once landed
Before the rains
Before the sunlight

Defying the odds
Staying alive
Against the elements
Until somebody steps on it

09-19-16 Monday Morning Sleepy Time

Pouring rain
Morning chill
Shivering bones
Under the covers

Autumn wind
Rattling glass
Squeaking door
Creeking floor

Back to sleep
Monday blues
Can't get out
Of bed today

09-18-16 Lucky Charms

you're in LUCK

out of LUCK
dumb LUCK
good LUCK

it's
your
LUCKY
day

some people have all the LUCK

others have no such LUCK at all
make your own LUCK in life
wishing you the best of LUCK

09-17-16 Sunny Rain Delay

Fun in the summer
Chomping on hot dogs
Gulping cold lemonade
On a hot sunny day

Tie score with two men on
Two outs in the fifth inning
Three balls and two strikes
Crack of the bat like thunder

Dark clouds rolling in
Rains pouring down on us
Soaking wet in the afternoon
Waiting for the game to resume

09-16-16 Do Your Part To Prevent Armageddon

The destruction of nature
Has been evolving for
Over a century now

Sadly we have already done
Irreversible damage to our planet
And we have depleted Earth's resources

Now is the time to stand up
For our world and for our children
To save the planet from premature death

If we do not act immediately
We will soon see the extinction
Of all life on Earth

09-15-16 Then And Now

Forget about the memories
Pieces of the past
Put to the test
Restful at best

Live in peace
Love at last
Be conscious now
Exist in this very moment

09-14-16 Transition Into The Atmosphere

Disappear into thin air
Evaporate into nothingness
Your spirit lives on again
A ghost in a winter storm

Selling lightbulbs by the dozen
Riding the zombie train express
Straight into another dimension
Returning to yesterday's future

Kissing goldfish at the aquarium
It's nice to have a home to hide in
Down by the sandy beaches of time
Dust blowing away into the wind

Several dolphins carry messages
Bringing hope to a hopeless place
Changing someone's life for the better
Making a difference in the world today

09-13-16 Monsters In Your Bed

Maybe four or more pieces
Keep the peace to say the least
Bulldogs flying through the air
Lightning flashes thunder crashes

Fried brains on a silver plate
The power of chocolate revealed
Bulldozer jackhammer sidewalk
Get out and stroll around town

Toxic water is not ok to drink
Radioactive supermarket feast
Machine gun underwear circus
Fight against the forces of evil

09-12-16 Cyborg Love Machine

Machines combined

Tears roll down your face

Gears grind down over time

A tender embrace together

Engines burning dirty fuel

Beautiful feelings of bliss

System function setting shift

Sweet kisses pop like bubbles

Programming glitch overload

Emotional connection in love

09-11-16 Nature Is Truth

Wind blows
Trees sway
Leaves float
Sun shines
