When I was a kid growing up
There was an old candy shop
Run by a lady named Gloria
I'd stop at the candy shop
To meet the other kids
While on our way to school
You'd see people drinking coffee
Playing their lucky lottery numbers
Buying packs of cigarettes and candy
On our way home from school
We'd stop at Gloria's Candy Shop
To buy baseball cards and comic books
Then one day Gloria sold the shop
The new owner short changed me
A chapter of my childhood ended
