It's hard to write poetry
When the world is against you
When life beats you down
When your mind body and soul
Are suffering from exhaustion
It's hard to write poetry
When you are seething with anger
When you're frustrated with life
When you have lost the game
And your well of inspiration is dry
But a poet must push through
To express those difficult feelings
Of hurt and pain and suffering
To let others know that they are not alone
When they experience those feelings too
