11-13-11 Three Thirteen

I picked you out of a crowd
and when our hearts met like magnets
they fit perfectly like puzzle pieces

We went out on a Saturday night
to a hip bohemian coffee shop
where we lived and loved and laughed
until dawn's newborn rays lit the path ahead of us

Shining down from the skies above
the sunlight illuminated the way
on our journey into forever together

Now that old bohemian coffee shop
where we had our first date so long ago
has become a crowded little hardware store
full of hammers and wrenches and rubber thingadings

Those technicolor walls have been painted over
and the cracks of time have settled into the brick
but my love for you remains stronger still and always will
