At the mercy
of Mother Nature
we seek shelter
to survive
this monster storm
with trees snapping
all around us
The native animals
are confused and bewildered
as intense wind gusts blow
at a hundred miles an hour
swishing swirling and stirring
churning stormy waters
surging in at high tide
under the full moon
Oceans rising very quickly
with debris flying through the air
causing long term power outages
with severe damage to infrastructure
Destruction raging in full force
flooding fierce unrelenting waves
in the hearts of our city streets
crushing everything in it's path
the innocent victims of nature's wrath
we'll all be lucky to escape with our lives
