Against the clock
We fight to live
We live to survive
We thrive to stay alive
Heart pumps blood
Brain thinks thoughts
Mouth speaks words
Skin drips sweat
Breathing eating sleeping
Walking talking drinking
Wake up tomorrow and
Do it all again and again
Then it becomes time
For us to create new life
A personal contribution
To the collective consciousness
Older we age
As years slide by
Always approaching
The expiration date
Finally it all stops
Spirit leaves body
Returning to the pool
Born again and again
