If trees could talk
they would ask us
to stop chopping
them down
They take a lifetime
to grow so big and tall
only to vanish in minutes
after an intimate meeting with
a chainsaw and a wood chipper
If trees could talk
we wouldn't chop them down
and we would be less inclined
to snap off their branches
or rip off their leaves
climbing to the top
hanging from a limb
It always better
to plant more trees
instead of
chopping them down
