02-18-16 Riding The Bus All Night

Sitting in the shelter
Running away from pain
As hard rains pour down

The bus is cold and noisy
It hasn't been cleaned in a while
Dim green lights dot the walkway

A woman snores loudly
There is an odd ubiquitous odor
Frost crystallizes on my window

Frozen in silent isolation
Wrapped up in a lonely time warp
Lost somewhere out in the universe

You close your eyes
But you never really fall asleep
Dreaming while you are awake

Middle of the moonlit night
Engines roaring along the highway
Hope the driver doesn't fall asleep
