Creep in through the windows
Inching their way across the floor
Cutting through the total darkness
Slowly illuminating the room
Until bright light shines all over
With enough warmth to heat up
The whole house awakened
Late afternoon orange glow
Shadows grow longer and taller
While the soft light fades away
The day's last rays into night
