When we were children
we'd read comic books
and watch cartoons
on Saturday morning
We'd see catastrophic disasters
and evil villains plotting to destroy the world
but there would always be superheroes
who would show up to save the day
Now as an adult I look at the world around me
I see catastrophic disasters on a global scale
I see evil villains plotting to destroy the world
but I'm still waiting for superheroes to save the day
