fighting off nightmares

shivering warm chills
dripping with sweat
drowning above water
bathed in evil
where shadows lurk
silently strange in
absence of light
reflecting wicked seductions
washed in blood
turning black and
tortured with thoughts
of insane paranoia
delivered by destiny
knocking down doors
suddenly startled awake
drifting off into
dreams about fire
engulfed in flames
running away from
happiness torn apart
before reaching salvation
at the end
