Nice day in the park
a small child lets go of a purple balloon
it drifts up and away out of reach
through leafy tree branches
swept off by a gust of wind
swooping up Fifth Avenue
all the way across town
passing by shiny office windows
climbing several stories into the air
soaring above the Empire State Building
through white fluffy clouds
coasting up into the deep blue sky
higher than airplanes can fly
all the way out into the atmosphere
it catches a glimpse of the moon and the sun
before all of a sudden
